About This Villa
This estate in the Charente Maritime, south-west France, consists of nineteen bedrooms distributed across a 17th-century chateau and two villas set in twelve acres of beautiful parkland. It’s an ideal venue for weddings, events and celebrations, with each of the three welcoming homes near each other yet enjoying their own private pools and terraces.
Chateau Serbise is the largest of all three, sleeping sixteen guests with eight bedrooms. The characterful grand salon features a rare decorative fireplace and the snooker room will delight all generations. An unpretentious dining room allows families and friends to gather for fine feasts and doors open up to a wonderful terrace, leading to an inviting swimming pool overlooking the vast gardens and parkland.
You’ll find a further five bedrooms at Domaine Serbise, a former wine press with a rustic and characterful interior, simple furnishings and a delightful private swimming pool and terrace. The open-plan kitchen-diner and living area has a particularly spacious and airy feel to it, there is plenty of room to relax and guests can easily come together to socialise.
Etables Serbise has six bedrooms, including two in a Rapunzel-like tower plus a living room and a homely kitchen-diner, all furnished with simplicity and comfort. Once again there are many characterful features such as stone walls and wood beamed ceilings as well as a swimming pool surrounded by a shaded terrace and space for children to play.
Whilst the these three homes are full of history, you will find all the modern conveniences you would expect such as well-equipped kitchens including a dishwasher, fibre-optic Wi-Fi and satellite TVs. They each feature lovely terraces, barbecues and al-fresco eating areas in addition to their own private swimming pools, not forgetting the spacious gardens and parkland for you to explore.
Within 7km can find yourself in medieval Pons with restaurants, small shops and historical sights. Activities in the area include golf, horse-riding and canoeing. Beach-lovers only have to travel just over half an hour to the coast – there are long stretches of sandy beaches from St Georges de Didonne to St Palais sur Mer. Wine aficionados needn’t travel far either with dozens of wineries and Cognac nearby. This region has a particularly mild climate all year round and it can be one of the sunniest parts of France during from late Spring to Autumn.
