Manoir De La Cote
About This Villa
Set within a 12-hectare estate, this 19th century manoir in southern Britanny welcomes up to 10 guests across its beautifully designed interiors and glorious gardens with a heated swimming pool and tennis court.
Once a hunting lodge, the residence dates back to early 1800s – it was built on the site of a Breton château that was destroyed in the 15th century. Having undergone a recent architect-led renovation, this stylish French manor house still exudes historic character and charm whilst also offering contemporary living in fine surroundings.
Step into the grand hallway before admiring the large living room and open-plan dining area for sociable meals in this impressive space. The kitchen is fully-equipped to a high standard and the breakfast room is the perfect spot for your morning coffee and pastry (breakfast is complimentary each morning).
Manoir De La Côte’s first floor is home to three elegant bedrooms, each one featuring a queen-size double bed and en suite bathroom. There’s also a study here in case you need to work during your stay – high-speed Wi-Fi is another great feature. Meanwhile, the top floor features a fantastic lounge with a Smart TV and soundbar, table football, next to the family en suite bedroom (with a double and two single beds).
Across the gardens, discover the private tennis court, boules pitch and a heated swimming pool which is enclosed, allowing swimming throughout the season (approximately April to October) – the doors can be opened on the garden side. The estate’s meadows, forest and wetlands are wonderful to explore.
It's hard to imagine wishing to leave your vast estate, however there is so much to experience across this part of southern Britanny. Soak up the charm of riverside Hennebont with its famous medieval market and Le Haras National d’Hennebont, and visit the daily fish market of Lorient, France’s second largest fishing port with a rich maritime heritage.
Then there’s the glorious coastline whether you are seeking the turquoise-coloured sea of Plage du Pérello or wilder Atlantic shores for a range of watersports. For a truly idyllic day out, take the ferry to the island of Groix for cycling trails, coastal walking paths, fascinating nature and more picture-perfect beaches.
