There are six wonderful bedrooms across the three upper floors of this mas, each one with an en suite bathroom and some their own lovely living areas. There’s a true sense of comfort and charm across this former 18th-century farmhouse.
Take the lift or wander down the winding stairs to the spacious living area with its romantic fireplace, a perfectly equipped kitchen and a characterful dining area for Provençal feasts. Doors lead out to the terraces looking out towards the superb scenery – the covered patio is the perfect spot for al-fresco dining as the stars fill the vast skies above Mont Ventoux. The gated swimming pool is ideal for cooling off on warm summer days or relax by the aromas of Provençal lavender on the pretty garden terrace.
Mas Vaucluse is a delightful holiday home for unwinding in magnificent surroundings. You will be well looked after too, not only will a continental breakfast be prepared every morning but daily housekeeping is also included. A host of other services can be arranged from a private chef and cookery lessons to babysitting and laundry services. The friendly house manager, who lives in the village, can be on hand to provide any concierge-style assistance you may need.
You can admire yet more breathtaking views from various vantage points of this charming village, which originally dates back to the 16th century. Find little squares, steep narrow alleys and impressive houses alongside a small handful of restaurants and a bakery. Just a short drive away is medieval Bédoin with its café terraces and cycling shops and be sure to spend Friday mornings in nearby Carpentras with one of the best and most atmospheric Provençal markets in the area.
Follow the tracks of some of the world’s greatest cyclists on Mont Ventoux or discover spectacular hiking trails through forests, gorges and ravines. Visit idyllic hilltop villages in the foothills, walk amongst the lavender fields of Sault, hire canoes along the Sorgue river and sample some of the excellent Côtes du Ventoux wines.
Spend time visiting the UNESCO World Heritage sites of Avignon, just 40km away, or drive to Van Gogh’s beloved Gordes in the captivating Luberon region. With so much history, culture and amazing scenery, this alluring part of Provence will capture your imagination in every way.
