The property was erected in 1741 on ancient Roman ruins in Positano's oldest quarter, Liparlati, near the Church of St. James.
The costly furnishings and works of art inside the home were commissioned by a wealthy shipowner.
All of the art was created by local workers and craftspeople.
The villa's 8 elegant suites offer 5-star luxury, each with a huge en suite bathroom decorated in antique Neapolitan pottery and an attached terrace.
The property sleeps 16 + 4 but may accommodate up to 25 guests for special events. On request, it is also accessible for weddings (max cap 150).
The home has four storeys, with the main entrance on the second.
1st floor: access to the Mediterranean garden, which features bougainvillaeas, lemon and orange trees, and the marmalade provided at breakfast.
Second floor: kitchenette and living room-dining room, completely equipped with all services (TV, WiFi, email, fax, telephone) and an extensive library with old and new literature, allowing you to dine, work, or relax in complete comfort.
The house is entirely centrally heated, but for the more romantic, a log fire can be lit in the winter, and air conditioning is available in the summer.
