This lovely, unique property is a real mediaeval castle built in the 12th century by Frederick Barbarossa, Holy Roman Emperor, and has seen many wars over the decades.
The castle was rescued from near-destruction over 20 years ago and reconstructed by expert architects and interior designers utilising local materials and traditional techniques to create today's spectacular residence.
You will pass through the 5 hectares of grounds surrounding the castle as you approach it via the private road. The massive, four-story castle is a sight to behold. The magnificent décor, tapestries, and antique furnishings will take you back in time.
The living and dining rooms are the heart of the residence. Your group may gather to create memories over the excellent chefs' meals, accompanied by a glass of wine from the castle's wine cellar.
There are eight-bedroom suites to select from, spanning three floors. Each bedroom features an ancient super-king-sized bed and a unique design and colour palette to offer the most peaceful and sumptuous environment for a good night's sleep.
Each apartment also has a living space and a bathroom, many of which have lovely bathtubs for a relaxing soak at the end of the day.
If that isn't enough relaxation, the property also boasts a spa with a massage room and a Turkish bath, and spa treatments and massages may be done on-site.
The owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. The house features Wi-Fi, TVs, underfloor heating, a spa, a gym, and a professional kitchen. A concierge, chefs, maid service, and spa personnel are also provided.
The castle grounds are a beautiful refuge surrounded by mountains and lush green countryside. While sipping your morning coffee, you can gaze out over the Tiber valley and see Assisi and Perugia in the distance.
The yard features numerous pleasant nooks with outdoor seats, eating terraces, tree-lined lawns, and an enticing pool.
Suppose you prefer to eat out one evening. In that case, the nearest restaurants are 5-10km distant, scattered around the countryside, while the nearest hamlet, Ponte Pattoli, is 8km away by car and includes a variety of shops and restaurants.
