Cosmic Villas is pleased to showcase this lovely villa in Tuscany, nestled among the rolling hills of the Val di Chiana and Val D'Orcia. With lush, green scenery wherever you look and many charming villages and towns to explore, this is an excellent location for a family or friend holiday.
Despite being surrounded by beautiful farmland, the house is only 1.5 kilometres from Sarteano hamlet, which can be reached by foot or car. This picturesque village contains a castle, palace, museum, charming churches to explore, and a variety of shops, restaurants, and bars. Sarteano is an excellent spot to roam around and is really convenient to have so close by.
The town of Cetona, nestled at the foot of Monte Cetona, is about 8 kilometres from the villa. This is a fantastic destination to explore on foot and is ranked as one of Italy's most beautiful towns.
The town's centre is the Piazza Garibaldi, a gorgeous 16th-century area with places to dine, drink, and shop and pretty churches and fountains to admire.
Stop someplace and sample fantastic local food, such as honey, meat, and olive oil. The town boasts several attractions, including the Civic Museum, which focuses on the history of human settlement in this area.
There is much to learn about the people who lived in Cetona, and artefacts dated back to the Palaeolithic age 10,000 years ago. If you're into archaeology, there's a fantastic archaeological site just outside town with impressive displays, caverns, and even an interactive Bronze Age dig area that's great for a family outing.
Montepulciano, a walled town about 1500 years old, is 22 kilometres away. However, this is the place to go if you need some rest and relaxation because the city has a fantastic spa that not only offers beauty treatments and massages but also has a variety of pools that use the natural thermal springs.
Therapeutic waters have various restorative powers, and many visitors come here to experience them. In addition to the hot springs, Montepulciano is noted for its outstanding architecture and historic buildings, such as its cathedral, Gothic town hall, and the stunning Temple of San Biagio and neighbouring rectory, both of which date from the 16th century.
Pienza, 32 kilometres from the estate, is another fantastic day trip. Pienza is considered the archetypal Renaissance town and was built with the money of Pope Pius II, who was born in the region. While visiting the area, Pienza should be on your list, with panoramic views of the Orcia valley and impressive buildings such as the Papal residence.
A food and wine tour is a fascinating and unique way to visit the town; you can take in all of the famous attractions with the expertise of a local tour guide while stopping off to enjoy loads of fantastic food and wine along the route, which sounds like the perfect day out!
For something a little different, drive 30 kilometres to Lake Trasimeno. This beautiful lake is flanked by various lake beaches, so you won't miss out on a day at the beach while on an inland vacation. Sunbathe, swim in the calm lake, or participate in one of the water activities available.
