Cosmic Villas is pleased to showcase this lovely house in northern Sicily, about 14 kilometres from the charming town of Cefalù and a little more than an hour from Palermo Airport.

The home, set on a hillside and has its own entrance, is part of an organic farm where horses, donkeys, cows, and pigs wander freely among the olive trees.

Depending on the season, help yourself to fresh eggs from the birds and fruit and vegetables. Indeed, this region is well recognised for producing olives, tomatoes, artichokes, and citrus fruits, which you will undoubtedly discover as you explore the surrounding countryside.

A short drive away is a 17th-century village with amenities such as a bakery, pharmacy, a small handful of café-bars and eateries, and a lovely church on the central plaza.

A large supermarket is just over a 10-minute drive away. Other shops may be found in the old village of Campofelice di Roccella, which is only 6 kilometres distant by car.

Long lengths of beach, summer lidos, and a picturesque promenade go on to wilder portions of the coast as you reach Capo Plaja, noted for sailing and windsurfing, which may be found along this stretch of beach at Campofelice di Roccella. A bit further east, the Mazzaforno coves are likewise spectacular in a gorgeous natural setting.

Cefalù (14km) is one of Sicily's most popular coastal resorts, and for a good reason: the old town is home to lovely mediaeval alleyways, a magnificent Norman cathedral, and numerous superb restaurants, while its sandy coastline is ideal for summer lidos and boat rides from the harbour (including ferries to the Aeolian Islands).

A steep trail leads to the top of La Rocca, where you may gaze out over some of northern Sicily's most stunning landscapes.

Keen historians should visit the Museo Mandralisca in Cefalù. Further west, the Tempio della Vittoria, dating back to the 5th century BC, and the exciting remains of Himera, accompanied by its museum, Antiquarium di Himera, are all around a 20-minute drive away.

Explore the Madonie Natural Park's amazing landscapes to find lovely communities in the mountains surrounded by abundant wildlife.

Hiking, horseback riding, and mountain biking are just a few available activities. Following the twisting roads inland, explore the villages of Gratteri, Isnello, and Castelbuono, which is notable for its castle.

Palermo is a great day trip by vehicle or rail (it's about a 45-minute train ride from the local station, with trains every couple of hours). Enjoy the bustling atmosphere of the city's street markets and marvel at Palermo's infinite old buildings, many of which are now UNESCO World Heritage sites.
