Cosmic Villas is pleased to showcase this mediaeval villa with its own tower overlooking the ruins of the ancient town of Ocriculum in Umbria, Italy's green heart.
This fantastic property, which sleeps eight people over four bedrooms, is excellent for a family vacation in the lush Italian countryside. The house is a great blend of old and new, with all the latest facilities you could want, such as air conditioning and Wi-Fi, gorgeous antiques and even an old millstone initially used to produce olive oil.
The extensive property exudes character and rustic appeal, giving it an ideal location for a real Umbrian vacation.
Stepping outside the property, you will find lovely gardens where you may dine alfresco while admiring the Tiber valley and river views. There is also a beautiful pool where your group may cool off on a hot day.
The villa is semi-rural but is positioned within a beautiful old community. You can enjoy walks in the valley and around the local Roman ruins while close to shops and restaurants.
Numerous restaurants are nearby, ranging from pizzerias to traditional family-owned trattorias, a bar, a grocery store, and even a museum.
Outside the village, there is plenty to see and do; the Ocriculum Archeological Park, which boasts many Roman ruins, including an amphitheatre, baths, and monuments, is only ten minutes distant by car.
If you want to travel further for a day trip, stop by the Cascate Delle Marmore. This spectacular waterfall was built by the early Romans. It is a 40-minute drive from the villa. You may enjoy the scenery or participate in water sports like kayaking and rafting.
The property is also about a half-hour drive from Narni and Terni, an hour from Orvieto and, of course, Rome, Italy's capital, where you can see famous attractions like The Colosseum and The Trevi Fountain!
