You are well positioned in Umbria to explore the surrounding countryside and small villages and travel farther into central Italy if you choose. Umbria is a delightful and modest region; rather than a big metropolis, it primarily comprises hamlets, villages, and towns with distinct personalities.
The ancient town of Trevi is nearby and studded with clusters of antique buildings built on a hilltop. There are various magnificent historical sights to visit in the town, like churches and the two circuits of walls surrounding parts of Trevi.
There are also stores, cafés, and restaurants and beautiful views of adjacent towns such as Spoleto and Foligno, which are well worth a visit. All three charming towns are less than 18 kilometres from your house, and stores and restaurants are even closer.
Visit Assisi (33km away) for a day trip, which is famous for being the birthplace of St Francis and for its pilgrim pathways. However, the town has much more to offer than its religious past. The entire town is now a UNESCO World Heritage site, full of places to explore and delightful Umbrian delicacies.
