The villa not only resides in an isolated and tranquil portion of the region but also rests amid huge outdoor gardens of over 20 acres. Gardens with trees and borders provide plenty of places to relax, socialise, and take in the scenery.
The house was built in the nineteenth century and was originally the rural residence of an aristocratic family. It has been meticulously restored to provide adaptable accommodation for a larger party, with self-contained suites and eight bedrooms sleeping up to 21 guests.
Each of the bedrooms and suites has a sense of light, space, and heritage, with star-vaulted ceilings and antique antiques in several. They all offer a blend of classic elegance and modern conveniences, with one unit set in a separate building for guests seeking more seclusion.
You can relax in your private lounge room and access the outside spaces. The first-floor suites open onto a terrace with seating options. As you relax with your favourite drink, take in the views of the gardens and the beautiful vegetation surrounding the estate.
The guestrooms and suites on the ground floor provide access to patios with tables and chairs for al fresco eating.
Further into the lawned grounds, there's a swimming pool to cool off in and gazebos that provide shade for sun loungers. Other rustic stone features, such as a wood oven and magnificent archways, represent the estate's heritage.
The property is easily accessible to the city and the shore, with Otranto and its many sandy beaches only a 20-minute drive away.
Historic Otranto is located on the coast and has a lovely harbour and plenty of viewing opportunities, including an excellent church and a 15th-century castle. The Baia dei Turchi stretch, just up the coast, is filled with beaches like Spiaggia Alimini, which boasts virtually white sand.
Day trips to Galatina and Lecce are also available, about 30 minutes away by car. Both are rich in Baroque architecture, and awe-inspiring churches, with Lecce, dubbed the "Florence of the South" for its riches of art and architecture.
